 Present

I am currently employed as a Senior Game Developer at PopCap Games, Inc. That would be a fancy term for someone who's a programmer that also lends a hand with production/game design, rather than say a Senior Software Engineer, who would be more likely to be just working on purely tech things. I started working here June 24, 2002 after college as the 8th employee. We're now over 200 in size, in Seattle alone, with offices in Dublin, Ireland, and satellites in San Francisco, Chicago, and Vancouver.

I'm living in Seattle, WA in an area known as Belltown which has seen a steady rise in frat boys and assorted d-bags. In my spare time, I sometimes mess around with music production (though not so much as of late), work on other game ideas, play video games, read, and go out (mostly to our local bar, Two Bells). I also like to nerd out and invest in the stock market.

 Past

Before this, I worked as an intern in college at AMD, CollabNet, and Petrolsoft (which is apparently either non-existant anymore or has been bought out). That also happens to be the descending order of interesting jobs. I nerded out and did performance analyis things in Linux at AMD. CollabNet and Petrolsoft were just generic techy sort of gigs.

I went to college at UCSD and majored in Computer Science. Before that, I lived in the suburbs in Chicago and attended New Trier High School. During college I started DJing techno (not trance, house, etc: just robotic techno), but pretty much gave it up except for on my birthday once I graduated. I still have my records and TR-909 though.

At some point I ran a techno record label named Dark Techno Records for about a year and a half with my buddy Justin Rickles.
